One Life.

Teach Abroad China offers short-term opportunities—“one week”—and long-term opportunities—“one year”—but regardless of the amount of time you want to spend teaching abroad, your time in China will challenge your worldview and open up new pathways you might not have expected. You’ll form friendships, learn new skills, and experience life on the other side of the globe. And for some people, the one week or one year turns into many years. You may find your Teach Abroad China experience transformative to how you live out the rest of your life.

Meet the program coordinator

When I first went to China in 2011, I thought I was going on an adventure like the ones I’d seen on travel shows. I quickly discovered the greatest adventure in China was not actually traveling to famous landmarks or eating interesting food, but building relationships with people, some of whom became my life-long friends. That initial trip to China in 2011 changed the trajectory of my life story. In 2012, I worked in Xiamen, China as an elementary EFL teacher for one school year. I later returned to Asia as an English Teaching Assistant through the Fulbright Program in Taiwan, where I taught English in rural public schools for two years. I developed my skills as a teacher and communicator, but more importantly, I was able to live every day as both a teacher and a learner in a culture very different from the one I grew up in. I’m excited to help you take the same jump into an experience that will change your life.
